Your path to effortless reading

Creating access to the infinite possibilities of the world through the ability to read, catapulting each and every learner to a lifetime of confidence and empowerment.

The Approach

Readers begin their journey at the Elevate Reading Center with an initial evaluation. This is designed to show us how the brain is currently reading and  processing sounds. Those results then guide us in customizing an implementation  plan, whether it be one on one or small group instruction. Readers in small group instruction are carefully grouped by current reading level and age.

Once enrolled, each reader is paired with a masterfully trained reading coach, not a  tutor, specifically chosen for them. When pairing our readers and coaches, we look  to create a strong collaboration to maximize success as well as fun. Our Elevate  reading coaches undergo a phonological screening, rigorous training, and receive continued support and mentorship.

An Elevate classroom isn’t an ordinary classroom. We don’t stand at the front of the  room, we don’t lecture, and we don’t grade our readers’ work. We sit right next to our readers and join forces to tackle the lesson together. Each skill is worked and re-worked to the point of automaticity, in a fast-paced environment, in order to keep our readers engaged and confident.

Elevate readers can expect:

• Scientifically Driven Instruction
• Open Communication
• Feedback with Each Session
• Initial, Progress, and Exit Evaluations
• Positive, Uplifting, and Fun Experience

The Approach

The Methodology:

Elevate Reading Center proudly implements Dr. Kay MacPhee’s highly specialized SpellRead program. Designed to help struggling readers not only ‘close the gap’ but achieve above-grade-level reading and spelling skills in approximately one year. This scientifically evaluated and results- driven program combines phonemic and phonetic activities with reading and writing to develop automaticity, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

SpellRead’s intensive instructional methods provide a multi-sensory approach that builds a student’s sound system and then bridges it with student's oral language. This carefully designed instruction integrates the auditory and visual aspects of the reading process and emphasizes specific skill mastery through systematic and explicit instruction.
